temari patch yukata

100.00

A Yukata is a causal cotton kimono intended to be worn around the home, after a bath and not to be worn outside. This pretty patch worked Yukata is from around 1940s and is made up from a number of beautiful contrasting designs including an ikat stripe, chrysanthemum and blossom prints and the pretty Temari print on the sleeves. Temari is a thousand year old craft from Japan that consists of creating a ball from layers of string that creates intricate geometric patterns. They are considered a symbol of perfection and are given as gifts during happy times.

This vintage kimono is in near perfect condition but due to its age has some minor water mark discolouration. Please contact us for images or if you have any questions.
