This silk kimono has an intricate geometric design which has been created using the traditional Japanese Meisen technique. It has a warm oyster pink ground colour, accented with jewels of bright pinks and blues offset against a fresh yellow lining.
Meisen is identifiable by the ikat-style weave which creates a charming feathered edge around the design. The technique was used predominately in the latter Meiji period and continued to be a popular method of production up until 1950.
This vintage kimono is in near perfect condition but due to its age has some minor water mark discolouration on the bottom left panel. Please contact us images.
